WinchesterMysteryHouse – If you’re in the mood for something kooky, the Winchester Mystery House might be just what you’re after. This ancient mansion is rumored to be haunted by ghosts galore, and has a staircase leading to nowhere. It’s now a landmark tourist attraction, and the setting for a number of fictional works.
WildlifeRefuge – San Jose is famous for its high-tech approach but if you want to get back in touch with nature the city is also home to part of the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge. This large nature preserve has a wide variety of native plants and animals, as well as migrating birds, and is a great spot to get away from it all and enjoy a pleasant stroll.
