Historical Sites – India has a rich and diverse history, with sites including the Qutub Minar. This five-storey tapering tower dates back to the late 12th century and was constructed after the defeat of Delhi’s last Hindu kingdom. It forms part of a complex including other towers, pillars, and Smith’s Folly. To the north-east is Humayun’s Tomb, the 16th century last resting place of the second Mughal emperor. It’s a stunning palatial structure built from red sandstone and sitting amidst formal gardens.
Garden of Five Senses – If you just want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city then visit the Garden of Five Senses. This park features shrubs, sculptures, and a water lily pond. It’s a great place to relax, whether that’s enjoying a leisurely stroll or having a picnic.
Museums – History buffs and aviation fans alike will find something to delight them at the nearby Air Force Museum. Not only are there memorabilia and planes commemorating the Indian Air Force’s history, it also has free entry. The National Rail Museum is well-suited to both adults and children and comes complete with exhibits and artifacts, one of which is a steam locomotive from the mid-19th century.
