Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Dubai is the biggest city in the United Arab Emirates and home to the sky-piercing Burj Khalifa. At ground level, the city offers plenty of other distractions for a day visit and we’ve picked out a few of the best for you.
Your Dubai Day Stay Suggestions
- Global Restaurants – Whichever culinary style you like the most, you’ll find it in Dubai. There’s Taiwanese fare from Taipei Dao, and African delights from Tribes. Beyond that, there are traditional Middle Eastern establishments, plus Italian, seafood, Spanish, Thai and more.
- The World’s Biggest Tower – Not one for those scared of heights (or using the elevator), the Burj Khalifa consists of 160 floors, and has one of the world’s great observation decks. The building itself has a design inspired by Islamic architecture, and an intriguing three-pointed star cross-section.
- Luxury Shopping – If you have cash to splash, the Dubai Mall is the place to do it. From watches to jewelry, cosmetics to clothing, there’s everything you could wish to buy. Once you’ve filled your bags, there’s an aquarium and ice-rink or, if you just want to put your feet up, a cinema.
- Dubai Dolphinarium – The Dubai Dolphinarium is sure to astound and delight visitors, who can watch dolphin and seal shows (be prepared to get wet if you’re sitting in the front rows).
Six Intriguing Dubai Facts
