Courtyard by Marriott (Central Park) is a particularly good spot for a day stay if you want to soak in the theatrical atmosphere of Broadway and enjoy the convenience of the eponymous nearby park. The hotel is also close to the shops and restaurants of Columbus Circle, and Times Square.
Global Menu – If high end Italian seafood makes your taste buds tingle, be sure to pay Marea a visit. Per Se offers an upmarket menu coupled with views of Central Park, whilst to the south Le Bernardin cooks up top notch French seafood. If you prefer Mexican, be sure to check out El Centro.
Central Park – Naturally, the hotel is close to Central Park. Perhaps the most famous urban park in the world, there’s a huge expanse of pleasant greenery in which to enjoy a leisurely stroll, and plenty more that may surprise you. There’s a zoo, featuring a petting zoo and exotic residents such as penguins and monkeys. A little further north lies Belvedere Castle, a Gothic and Romanesque fort that offers great views of the park, and the extensive art collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Broadway – One of the world’s best theater districts, Broadway’s countless venues continually put on tragedies, comedies, dramas, and musicals to cater to every taste. Within a short distance of the hotel door is Studio 54, a historic venue now home to a non-profit theater, and Broadway Theatre, known for hosting large productions, and there are plenty more theaters just a little further afield. If opera is more your cup of tea, the nearby Metropolitan Opera House is a lavish setting for opera and ballet.
