Visit the tropics in the Middle Keys at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Marathon Florida Keys hotel. This waterfront hotel provides day use rooms with free parking and free Wi-Fi, plus access to on-site dining, an outdoor heated pool, and fitness center. The local area has many great restaurants, in addition to beaches, wildlife spots, and the Marathon Air Museum.
Seafood and More – There’s on-site dining for your convenience but if you fancy a change of pace the local area is bursting with restaurants to try. Just south of the hourly rooms is the Key Colony Inn, which features a lounge and full bar alongside seafood, steak, and pasta dishes. Or you can enjoy coconut shrimp, frozen drinks, and other tiki fare at the waterside Island Fish Company. Italian fans can sate their appetite at Frank’s Gill, where the diners can build their own pasta, with many more seafood and other restaurants nearby.
Sombrero Beach – Rest and relax at this park and beach where you can lounge in the sun and work on your tan, or go for a refreshing swim, or play volleyball if you’re feeling especially energetic. There’s a beautiful view of the ocean and you may be able to catch sight of wildlife such as loggerhead sea turtles, who nest on the beach.
Florida Keys Aquarium Encounters – Combine aquatic adventures with a hands-on approach to animal interaction at Florida Keys Aquarium Encounters. Visitors can engage in diving and snorkeling, as well as feeding the marine wildlife and getting up close and personal at the touch pools.
Marathon Air Museum – If you’re more of a landlubber then the Marathon Air Museum might be more your cup of tea. This aviation museum is run by knowledgeable staff who help guide visitors through the history of flight through both planes and smaller historical items. It’s small but intriguing, with donations welcome and no admission fee.
