Old roots meet modern convenience at the Union Station Hotel Nashville, Autograph Collection, which is in a historic hotel more than a century old. Today that heritage combines with free Wi-Fi and pet-friendly day rooms. Speaking of the past, the Parthenon is a nearby stunning replica of the Greek original, and other local attractions include the Ryman Auditorium and the Tennessee State Museum, with plenty more to see in the area
Dining Options – On-site dining is the easiest way to go but there are plenty of other restaurants if you’re exploring the local area. Etch offers an eclectic, mixed menu complemented with an extensive range of cocktails and wine. Midtown Café puts a creative twist on classic American cuisine. Local ingredients meet an ember-fired grill to conjure innovative culinary creations at the historic mansion that houses Husk. Meanwhile, those with a vegan appetite can sate their hunger at E+ROSE Wellness Cafe of Wedgewood/Houston.
Artistic Delights – The Frist Art Museum is an art deco building just steps from the day use rooms. The galleries display a rotating selection of artwork, with past exhibitions including works by Dorothea Lange and Frida Kahlo. Head west and you’ll come to a slice of Ancient Greece: a full-sized replica of the Parthenon (after which it is named). This Greek style temple is art in itself, but within the temple-like structure you’ll also be able to browse galleries of American artwork.
Tennessee State Museum – Delve into the state’s past at the Tennessee State Museum, which covers the story of Tennessee through times of peace and tumult. Civil War era relics are amongst the exhibits on display, as are Indian artifacts, and the site has constructed replicas of pioneer buildings to help bring the past to life.
Ryman Auditorium – Country music fans have no shortage of places to visit in Nashville, and one of the best is the Mother Church: Ryman Auditorium. A diverse range of concerts is hosted there today, and in the past the stage has seen the likes of Charlie Chaplin, Doris Day, Elvis, Johnny Cash, and Louis Armstrong, to name just a few.
