6 day use hotels in FLL Airport / Cruise Port, United States

FLL has four terminals and several ground transportation areas located between them. Hotel and off-airport parking shuttles use designated lower-level pickup areas.

Many Fort Lauderdale-area hotels provide complimentary airport shuttle service, although availability and schedules vary by property.

Public transportation is also available. Broward County Transit Route 1 serves the airport through the Rental Car Center, and airport shuttles connect Terminals 2, 3, and 4 with that facility. Terminal 1 has pedestrian access to the Rental Car Center.

For travelers arriving hours before a regular room is available, early check-in hotels can help.

Fort Lauderdale combines airport, beach, cruise, and South Florida road-trip traffic in a relatively compact area.

A cruise passenger may leave a ship in the morning but have a flight at 6 p.m. A beach traveler may have to check out of a hotel long before a late departure. Someone arriving early may want to shower or change before continuing toward Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, or another South Florida destination.

That makes a day room useful even when there is no traditional flight layover involved.

Business travelers can also use a hotel workspace when they need privacy between a flight and a meeting.

At FLL, the most valuable daytime stay often occurs before the first flight or after the last hotel night rather than during a connecting itinerary.

The airport's proximity to Port Everglades makes cruise timing especially important. Travelers should still allow enough time for transportation between the port, hotel, and airport rather than treating them as one location.

For travelers whose next priority is simply getting back to FLL, near-airport hotels can keep the final part of the trip uncomplicated.

South Florida travelers can also explore daytime stays near Miami International Airport, Orlando International Airport, and Atlanta Airport.

Hotels by the hour are particularly useful when a cruise or flight schedule leaves only part of the day open.

Nap hotels can provide somewhere to recover after an early start, while late check-out hotels can help travelers keep a room later into their final vacation day.
