The day use rooms at Courtyard by Marriott San Antonio Six Flags at The RIM hotel are ideal for resting and relaxing, with free Wi-Fi, free parking, and an outdoor pool/fitness center. There are many dining opportunities near the hourly rooms, with local attractions including the eponymous Six Flags amusement park, multiple shopping malls, and all the delights of San Antonio.
Global Menu – There’s an extensive selection of classic American fare available at 54th Street Restaurant & Drafthouse, whilst those who prefer Asian cuisine can find great food at Kin Thai & Sushi. Pizza aficionados should pay Grimaldi’s Pizzeria a visit to sample the brick-oven delights, whilst a festive atmosphere can be enjoyed at El Bucanero – Blanco where there are plenty of Mexican dishes from which to choose, with the specialty being fish.
Six Flags – The Six Flags Fiesta Texas amusement park is within a mile to the west and brimming with hair-raising roller coaster rides and other exhilarating attractions. There are live shows and a water park for aquatic entertainment, and plenty of dining options (eating is recommended after riding the roller coasters rather than before).
Shopping Malls – The Shops at La Cantera is a shopping center adjacent to the amusement park with a smorgasbord of stores, as well as eateries to recharge your batteries and places to stop and rest. Books, clothes, tech, jewelry and more can all be browsed and bought at this conveniently close mall. But even nearer to the hotel is The Rim, a sprawling shopping complex that boasts not only stores galore and diners, but a cinema too.
The Alamo – To the south is San Antonio, and the iconic site of the Alamo. This small fortress has cast a long historical shadow and is a must-see for both budding historians and American patriots. Today there’s a museum exhibiting ancient artifacts that explore the heritage of Texas.
