Hotel Description

Located in the vibrant heart of Manhattan, The Standard, East Village’s day rooms come with modern conveniences and charming eccentricity. There’s a street level garden, an oasis of tranquility, and NO BAR, an inclusive new wave gay bar. The pet-friendly hourly rooms have minibars and free Wi-Fi, and are perfectly placed for guests to access the innumerable attractions of NYC. From the Statue of Liberty to Times Square shopping, Madison Square Garden to Central Park, and the art galleries, theaters, and famous skyscrapers, there’s more than enough to fill any day stay.

Neighborhood

  • Culinary Diversity – The hotel offers on-site dining and the local area is brimming with varied restaurants. Nowhere’s more exclusive than Momofuku Ko, a 12 seat dining establishment where chef David Chang prepares American cuisine with Asian influences. Vegans with a hankering for sushi can find the dish without the raw fish at Beyond Sushi, in addition to other vegan treats. Fine American dining is on the menu at Gramercy Tavern, as is a vibrant bar atmosphere.

  • Towering Triumphs – To the north of the hotel are a trio of architectural icons and stars of the silver screen. Nearest is the Flatiron Building, whilst just a little further on are the Art Deco giants of the Empire State and Chrysler Buildings. Beautiful on the outside, interior observation decks also offer fantastic views of the Manhattan skyline. Looking southward, the Statue of Liberty is the Big Apple’s most famous lady and has been welcoming visitors to the city for well over a hundred years.

  • Central Park – A huge slice of greenery cut into the steel and glass world of Manhattan, Central Park offers not only a relaxing getaway but multiple distractions. From the Gothic and Romanesque style of Belvedere Castle to the world class collection of global art housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the natural beauty of the Arthur Ross Pinetum, there are plenty of opportunities to unwind and get away from it all.

  • Broadway – Theatrical delights are abundant at Broadway, the best theater district in the country. Whether you yearn for the timeless comedy, drama, and tragedy of Shakespearian plays that entertained the court of Elizabeth I, or want to experience the latest smash hits and contemporary classics, there’s something for just about everybody at Broadway. Do be sure to check in advance and see what’s on, and to guarantee you can get the tickets you’re after.
