Hotel Amenities

Hotel Description

The Heldrich Hotel offers a sophisticated city stay in hourly rooms with elegant décor in a hotel featuring prints by New Jersey artist Tim Daley. It’s also in an eminently convenient location, with two top class live performance venues right by the hotel door, and the pleasant environment of Rutgers Gardens just a short walk away.

Neighborhood

  • Global Menu – Steakhouse 85 Restaurant provides a surf ‘n’ turf menu with meat and seafood sometimes accompanied by live jazz. Casual vegan dishes such as pasta, wraps, and salads, are available at Veganized, whilst Mediterranean grilled fare can be found at Efes Mediterranean Grill. Fine American dining and wining is the order of the day at The Frog and The Peach, with classic Japanese noodle soups the menu mainstay of Ramen Nagomi.

  • Live Performances – Just over the road, steps from the day rooms, is the State Theatre New Jersey, a live performance venue that hosts an eclectic mix of entertainment including music, comedy, and plays. Next door to the hotel is the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center (NBPAC), making it the ideal place to stay if live performances are your bag.

  • Rutgers Geology Museum – A short way to the north is Rutgers Geology Museum, built all the way back in 1872. Today this museum is the home of ancient artifacts from fossils to a mummy, and treasures of the earth including minerals and geological specimens.

  • Rutgers Gardens – Head southeast instead and you’ll soon reach the serene surroundings of Rutgers Gardens. This tranquil botanical attraction features a variety of gardens and horticulture treats, including a bamboo forest, flower gardens, and gazebos. It’s a tranquil place to get away from it all or get some light exercise (especially for those traveling with a four-legged friend).
