Mughal Heritage – To the north-east is Humayun’s Tomb, a stunning monument to the second Mughal emperor from the 16th century. The historic tomb is constructed with red sandstone and surrounded by formal gardens. Close by lies the more humble tomb of his father, the first Mughal emperor Barber (aka Babur).
White Tigers – Wildlife enthusiasts can enjoy the rare treat of seeing white tigers at the National Zoological Park, just to the north of the Mughal tombs. Amongst the more than 100 different types of exotic residents there are other types of megafauna including elephants and rhinoceroses.
- Museums – To the hotel’s west, day visitors with a penchant for matters military or aviation can wander the free-to-enter Air Force Museum. Exhibits including planes commemorate the achievements of the Indian Air Force. If you prefer your transport on solid ground with a helping of steam, the National Rail Museum is to the north, and one of the prized historical exhibits is an 1855 steam locomotive.
