The Fairfield Inn St. Louis Fenton hotel is just off Highway 44, and offers day use rooms with free Wi-Fi, free parking, and twenty-four access to a fitness center. There’s also an indoor pool, and the hourly rooms are close to attractions including the St. Louis Zoo, Busch Stadium, and the city’s fantastic (and free) Art Museum.
Eclectic Eateries – Familiar pub grub and TV sports are on the menu at Fenton Bar & Grill, and Sinophiles can find noodles, fried rice, and other traditional Chinese delights at Panda. There’s more Far Eastern fare available at Tokyo Sushi, including nigiri, sashimi and other Japanese classics. Authentic Italian food in a relaxed atmosphere is yours at Viviano’s Festa Italiano, and there are other local culinary styles such as Tex-Mex, Mexican, and Mediterranean in the area.
Busch Stadium – Sports fans can head over to the red brick setting of Busch Stadium, home of the MLB’s St. Louis Cardinals, to catch some top flight sporting action. The venue has also hosted international soccer matches, college football, and pro hockey, so even if the Cardinals aren’t playing you might still be able to enjoy live entertainment.
Natural Delights – A more relaxing, and floral, distraction is available at the Missouri Botanical Garden. This expansive stretch of greenery is replete with intriguing features to explore, including a greenhouse dome and butterfly house. If big beasts are more your thing then try St. Louis Zoo, a free admission wildlife center that is home to comical penguins, mighty elephants, and many other exotic residents.
St. Louis Art Museum – Close to the zoo is the St. Louis Art Museum, which also has no admission fee. This is particularly good value as the museum houses over 30,000 works of art, with rooms occupied by varying treasures, from weapons to sculpture. There’s even an interactive exhibit featuring an Egyptian mummy.
