Embassy Suites by Hilton Oklahoma City Downtown Medical Center provides day rooms close to both the dining and entertainment of Bricktown and the academia of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) campus. Guests can enjoy free made-to-order breakfast and evening reception, and have a plethora of urban distractions beyond the door, including great museums and the Myriad Botanical Gardens.
Range of Restaurants – Pub grub, draft beer, and sport on TV is all at Deep Deuce Grill, and there’s an outdoor patio with a firepit too. Housed in a renovated warehouse, Pearl’s Crabtown serves up a menu of seafood, but if you prefer Latin American treats then try Yucatan Taco Stand Tequila Bar & Grill. There’s also fine dining, including seafood and chops, at The Mantel Wine Bar & Bistro, with leather seats for those with refined palates.
Myriad Botanical Gardens – Just to the south-west of the hourly rooms you’ll find Myriad Botanical Gardens, a site which features a tropical conservatory and acres of formal gardens. It’s a beautiful, serene place to get away from it all, or for keen horticulturalists to admire the greenery and perhaps pick up a tip or two.
Museums – Science Museum Oklahoma is an expansive, child-friendly museum that features a combination of interactive exhibits and a planetarium. Day visitors can also soak in the heritage of the local area at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, which tells the story of the American West through the media of art, artifacts, and dioramas.
Oklahoma City Zoo – Take a walk on the wild side of nature at the Oklahoma City Zoo, which offers train tours and walking trails as well as exotic animals. African giants including lions and elephants make their home at the zoo, and you might just have the chance to feed the giraffes.
