Range of Restaurants – There’s nowhere nearer than Sambo’s Restaurant, a beachside establishment where you can get breakfast all day, from chicken-fried steak to chocolate chip pancakes. If seafood tickles your fancy then head to the wharf and try the seasonal seafood of the Santa Barbara Shellfish Company. Italian cuisine, including an extensive wine list, is yours at Toma Restaurant & Bar, whilst traditional Mexican fare is cooked up at Mony’s Mexican Food.
Museums – Within walking distance of the hotel is the Santa Barbara Museum Of Art, a compact museum that exhibits 20th century Western American paintings and Asian ceramics. Close by is the Santa Barbara Historical Museum, where the history of the city is told through the more than 80,000 artifacts that are on display.
Old Mission Santa Barbara – The Old Mission Santa Barbara dates back to the late 18th century, and today features artwork and artifacts from that period. Close to the mission is La Huerta Historic Garden, a charming little garden flush with roses.
Beach Distractions – West Beach is right by the day use rooms, with East Beach not much further off. If you’re feeling lazy, you can lie back and work on your tan, but the energetic may prefer to take advantage of kayak/SUP hire. Stearns Wharf is home to shops and a small aquarium. Santa Barbara Zoo is a short way east, with wild animals including lions, giraffes, and elephants.
