Day guests at Park Lane Hotel New York can enjoy luxurious rooms and stunning views of Central Park and the Manhattan skyline. There are many attractions to visit in the park alone, from statues, zoo, and museums to a castle, plus the area has numerous theaters and great local restaurants.
Global Menu – There are on-site dining options, but if you’re out and about there are plenty of diverse restaurants to visit. A short walk from the hotel door is Nobu Fifty Seven, a Japanese-Peruvian establishment where you might also be able to enjoy a little celeb-spotting. There’s a giant Buddha and pan-Asian cuisine on offer at TAO Uptown, whilst Philippe Chow serves up sophisticated Beijing style Chinese dishes. There are many Italian establishments in the area and one of the nearest is Trattoria Dell’Arte, a Tuscan trattoria decorated with Italian art.
Central Park – The hotel is right on the edge of Central Park, allowing day visitors to be there within a few steps. The scenic Gapstow Bridge and small zoo are amongst the first of the park’s many attractions, but keep walking and you’ll pass the Alice in Wonderland statue and reach the 19th century Belvedere Castle, and be able to watch free summertime performances of Shakespeare at Delacorte Theater. Further in, there’s world class art exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, plus the Neue Galerie and Guggenheim just off the park.
Live Performances – Theater fans have come to the right place, as Broadway has venues that put on just about every type of play, from timeless classics through to cutting edge contemporary works. Beyond the drama, comedy, tragedy, and musicals, there are also plenty of opportunities to catch live stand up and even opera.
Natural History – The Hayden Planetarium is a must-see attraction for space fans, and features an impressive 3D theater in addition to its many exhibits. It’s part of the American Museum of Natural History, which is also home to dinosaurs and exhibits about human culture.
