Hotel Description

The top destinations of downtown Orleans are easily accessible from the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel New Orleans, including the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The day rooms come with free Wi-Fi, on-site dining and an outdoor pool, and are close to attractions including Harrah’s Casino, and the Aquarium of the Americas.

Neighborhood

  • Diverse Dining – Contemporary French fare is on the menu at August, and is served in a 19th century space featuring chandeliers. Meanwhile, there’s an innovative and constantly updated selection of seafood available at GW Fins, and Creole staples from Napoleon House. Elegant brasserie Luke offers a combination of French and German cuisine washed down with house brews, and other local styles include Cajun, Italian, Israeli, and more.

  • Harrah’s Casino – Right next door to the day use rooms is Harrah’s Casino, a betting hotspot where you can chance your hand and see if Lady Luck is on your side. To celebrate wins or cheer yourself up after a loss there’s also great dining courtesy of Acme Oyster House.

  • Mercedes-Benz Superdome – Just a short way west is the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, a huge stadium where the New Orleans Saints play their home games. In addition to top class NFL action the sporting arena has hosted a variety of other events over the years, from soccer to wrestling, and a large number of live concerts, so check the schedule and see what’s on when you’re in town.

  • Wildlife Centers – Even closer, but to the east, is the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas where marine creatures frolic for the entertainment of visitors. One of the main attractions is a glass tank of 400,000 gallons which features sharks, rays, coral reefs, and a walkthrough tunnel for spectacular views. In addition, the Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium is close by, for those who prefer dinkier animals.
